"Couldn't find a grate like I had bought 50 years ago (these things do last) and when I purchased yours I felt like I had to accept second best. (By the way LOWES had all the grates displayed upside down, and I couldn't convince them otherwise- looked funny as hell with the four legs sticking in the air). Boy, was I wrong. Your grate can't hold half as much wood, but the wood burns completely leaving only fine ash. A fire with my old grate would have left mountains of incompletely burned wood and ash. Only wish the grate was a bit deeper (I have a huge fireplace) so I wouldn't have to tend to it as often. In all your grate rocks! Keep up the fine workmanship and the ember retainer has made me a beliver."
